Information and Directions
Located just 1 hour North of Chicago, Northpoint is Lake Michigan’s most consistent Salmon and Trout charter fishing port. From early April through mid-October, fishing is at its finest at Northpoint Marina. Average catches out of this area normally range from 10 to 15 fish per trip. Early Spring catches can consist of limits of mostly Coho Salmon and Late Summer catches include some of the best Chinook (King Salmon) angling on Lake Michigan! Throughout the season we also have some excellent Steelhead action (Lake Run Rainbow Trout). Lake Trout are always around but I generally save them for the Late Season Waukegan Harbor trips. Travel Directions from the South
From Chicago:Take the Tri-State Tollway (Route I-294) North to Rosecrans Road (Route 173)
Go East (Right) on Rosecrans Road approx. 6.5 Miles to Sheridan Road
Go North (Left @ Blockbusters) on Sheridan Road Approx. 1.8 Miles to 7th Street
Go East (Right) on 7th Street past the R.R. Crossing to the stop sign at the Marina administration building.
(DO NOT SPEED-25MPH THEY DO TICKET!)
Go North (Left) to the next stop sign (CHARTER BOATS) North Harbor.
Go East ( Right) Around the large gated parking lot until you get to the far Northeast corner of the parking lot drive
(Just Past The Yacht Club)
This is where you will find “AB-Dock”. The “Confusion” is on Dock AB-19.
Half way down the dock on the left side
You may park your vehicle in the ungated lot or on the South Side of the Skipper Bud’s building (Boatyard) on the South Side of the building. Please observe the signs. DO NOT PARK IN THE GATED LOT EVEN IF THE GATES ARE OPEN!! (they Tow!)
Travel Directions from the North:
From Milwaukee Take I-94 South (East) to the Illinois-Wisconsin Border.
Exit @ State Line Road / Russell Road East (Right)
Take Russell Road East approx. 6 Miles to Sheridan Road South (Right)
Go South on Sheridan Road approx. ½ Mile to 7th Street East (Left)
Go East (Left) on 7th Street past the R.R. Crossing to the stop sign at the Marina administration building.
