Early Season Fishing at NW Indiana Waters of Lake Michigan

From Mid March thru Mid April The Charter Boat CONFUSION journeys to Northwest Indiana in search of  Lake Michigans Early Spring catches of Young Coho Salmon &  Brown Trout.  Fishing this time of the year can be really fast at times and the table fare of the Spring Cohos is unrivaled.   . The lake is just starting to warm this time of the year but it is still in the 30’s & 40 Degree temperatures on the lake.  This keeps the fish near the surface and normally easy to target.  Sometimes there are even some Spring Kings and Lakers around too!   This is one of my favorite times of the year as it really cures my cabin fever.  . The weather can be cold in the early Spring & I recommend preparedness on what clothing to bring along. Directions to Charter Boat “CONFUSION” @ Pastrick Marina

From Interstate 80/94 (Marina is next to Resorts Casino-Gary)
Take the Cline Avenue exit North (Rt. 912). Go North to Exit 5C - Pastrick Marina. Turn left at first stoplight. Turn right at next stoplight to the guardhouse.
From the Chicago Skyway/Indiana Toll Road (Marina is next to Resorts Casino-Gary)
Take the Skyway South into The Indiana Toll Road. Take the Indiana Toll Road South Exit #10 (Cline Avenue Rt. 912 North) DO NOT EXIT AT CLINE AVE SOUTH-BRIDGE OUT!  Stay to the Right and pass through the toll booth (No-Toll Presently) and Merge onto Northbound Cline Ave.   Go North to Exit 5C - Pastrick Marina. Turn left at first stoplight. Turn right at next stoplight to the guardhouse.

The Charter Boat CONFUSION fishes on Lake Michigan in a large variety of sea & weather conditions. There is no need to cancel the trip under most scenarios. The boat is a very sea worthy vessel and combined with the captain’s knowledge of the waters, will provide for an enjoyable & safe experience whenever leaving the harbor.
